The City of Senoia's 7th annual Cruisin' to the Oldies Car Show will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. See over 200 classic cars parked right on Main Street.

Next Senoia Farmers Market Saturday Sept 10th

Help support local farmers at the Senoia Farmers Market. The Markets are held on the second and fourth Saturdays each month from May through September. Farm fresh locally grown produce, canned good and specialty foods and items are available.

The Market is held from 8:00 AM to 12 noon in the City Hall Parking Lot on Main Street in downtown Senoia.

Senoia, Georgia

Senoia (the local, traditional pronunciation is "Sen-oy," with the "a" being silent) is a city in Coweta County, Georgia.

The 2005 estimate shows 2,719 living within Senoia, making Senoia the second largest city in Coweta County.

The City has recreational trails in Marimac Lakes Park and along Rockaway Road. Low Speed Motor Vehicles and Motorized Carts are permitted on these trails and on ANY city street where the speed limit is 35 MPH or less. All carts must operate in accordance with state and city law and must be registered with the City of Senoia. Please operate all vehicles with extraordinary care.

History of Senoia

In the Beginning...
Coweta County (pronounced "Cow-eeta" or
"Ky-eeta" & meaning "water falls") was formed
in Georgia in June 9, 1825 as Chief William McIntosh
signed the Treaty of Indian Springs, for which
he was soon killed by his fellow Creek Indians. 
Settlers migrated to the area following the
Fifth Land Lottery of 1827.
Gerrard M. Veal, a minor, received land lot 279,
the 202.5 acres that became present day Senoia.

Another thing for visitors to Senoia to note:  Although you might think that Senoia would most likely be pronounced "Seh-noy-yuh", don't be fooled.  Locals here simply call it "Seh-noy."  If you want to stand out like a sore thumb, feel free to mispronounce Senoia.  No one will say anything, but every one will know you are not a "local"!
